ISLAMABAD: Rebutting the allegations levelled against him by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Amir Muqam Thursday asserted that he had never met or spoken to MNA Ayesha Gulalai before her press conference, ARY News reported.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday here, Muqam termed the PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry’s claims baseless and untrue.

“I will file a slander notice worth Rs500 million against the PTI for levelling false allegations against me,” he remarked.

Earlier, the PTI spokesman had claimed that Muqam had provided Rs50 million to Gulalai’s father to speak against party chairman Imran Khan and to hurl scathing allegations at him.

“I have never interacted with Gulalai before her presser. I [just] spoke to her for a while after her news conference on Tuesday,” Muqam said.

Praising the Gulalai’s courage, he said that the PTI chief has always been morally defaulted which is resulting in party’s unpopularity among the masses.

Following the Gulalai’s press conference, the PML-N and PPP are calling for investigation into the allegations against Imran Khan.

On Wednesday, after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s women wing warnings to PTI lawmaker Ayesha Gulalai, either to seek pardon or face Jirga (a tribal council to settle disputes), PTI served a legal notice to Gulalai for levelling scathing allegations against party chairman Imran Khan.

Gulalai has been asked to submit her response within 10 days of its receipt in the form of an unconditional apology by holding a press conference, otherwise she has to pay the compensation amount of Rs30 million on account of defaming Imran and endangering the party’s politics.

The notice has been served by the PTI’s media coordinator after party’s spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry’s press conference in which he apprised the media that a legal notice would be sent to Gulalai.
