ANF seizes drugs, prohibited medicines during Karachi raids

KARACHI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized a suspicious parcel full of prohibited medicines used for intoxication by drug addicts during a raid conducted at Karachi airport.

ANF spokesperson said that the parcel was booked by a person named Mansoor Khizar for delivery to Sydney’s Patrick William.

In another raid, ANF officials raided Hyderi Masjid in Purana Golimar area of the metropolis and seized 800 grams hashish, 50 grams methamphetamine which worth more than Rs2 million in international market. An accused person was also arrested by the ANF officials, spokesperson said.

On March 28, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had carried out a crackdown against drug peddlers and seized 3,015.938 kilogram drug and arrested 32 suspects.

The huge quantity of drug was recovered during 29 raids at different places in the metropolis, said the ANF spokesperson adding that the captured 32 suspects included seven women as well.

He said the recovered narcotics valued at Rs0.1351 trillion in the international market.

On March 18, the ANF officials had claimed to have arrested five drug peddlers and seizure of huge quantity of narcotics in different raids conducted in different parts of Sindh.

In latest series of raids, the ANF officials had seized 130 kilograms of narcotics and arrested three alleged peddlers during a raid carried out at Jamshoro Indus Highway.

According to the ANF spokesperson, the narcotics worth million in the international market were hidden in secret boxes of Toyota vehicle.

In a separate action, a drug smuggling bid to the United Kingdom (UK) through ‘cargo shipment’ was foiled by ANF officials in Hyderabad.

ANF officials had confiscated narcotics up to three kilograms of Heroin during a raid in Korangi Industrial Area of Karachi, the metropolis of Pakistan. Two accused persons were also arrested in the action.
