Another convict in Musharraf attack case to be hanged

Niaz Muhammad, convicted for attacking the former president general (retd) Pervez Musharraf along with other accomplices in Rawalpindi, is now in a death row.

Niaz was incarcerated at a jail in Haripur. He has now been shifted to Peshawar jail for exectution.

His death warrants have already been issued.

After the deadliest terror attack at a military-run school in Peshawar, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ended the six-year moratorium on the death penalty, reinstating it for terrorism-related cases.

Interior ministry has finalised the cases of 500 convicts who have exhausted all the appeals, their mercy petitions have been turned down by the president and their executions will take place soon.
