ANP leader, brother killed in Harnai roadside blast

HARNAI: At least two people, a local Awami National Party ANP leader among them, were killed in a roadside blast in Shahrug area of Balochistan’s Harnai district on Friday morning, ARY News reported.

Security sources said the blast took place in Shahrug area when ANP leader Abdul Razaq along with his brother was on his way to attend a public gathering of the party in Pishin district.

The two brothers sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot, they said.

The security officials further said that the dead bodies have been shifted to a nearby health facility for medico-legal formalities, and added that there was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.

Following the incident, a contingent of Levies personnel reached the site of the blast and cordoned it off for security purpose. They also launched a search operation in the adjoining areas to arrest the culprits involved in the crime.
