Anti polio drive underway in Karachi, Peshawar amid high security
KARACHI/PESHAWAR: The anti-polio drive is underway in certain constituencies of the provincial capitals of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtonkhwa amid high security, ARY News reported on Sunday.
The drive in going on in 24 union councils of Karachi covering areas of Gadap, Manghopir, Baldia, SITE, Orangi and Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Ban on motorbike riding is also in place in the aforementioned UCs. The anti-polio drive will continue till 6pm.
Similarly, a campaign titled, ‘Sehat ka Insaf’ is also underway in specific Peshwar constituencies, with a ban on motorbike riding till 5pm. The vaccination of polio along with nine other diseases is being given to children in the KP's capital.
However, the drive could not start in some areas of both the cities due to inadequate security.
It is the sixth phase of ‘Sehat Ka Insaf’ campaign in Peshwar. Section 144 has already been imposed in the provincial capital.
