APCNGA warns for countrywide protest

KARACHI: All Pakistan Compressed Natural Gas Association (APCNGA) warned government for countrywide protest if the extra tax being charged under the Gas Infrastructure Development Cess (GIDC) wouldn’t withdrawn, ARY News reported.

APCNGA’s Sindh Chairman Shabbir Suleman and Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) President Arshad Bukhari announced to commence protest while addressing a press conference in a local hotel on Wednesday. They said due to the implementation of GIDC tax CNG stations bearing the loss of Rs. 1.5 lac monthly.

APCNGA’s Sindh Chairman said that three-days load shedding of CNG causing difficulties for the consumers in the month of Ramazan. He said gas is being supplied to power plants and industries by restricting gas of CNG stations.

Shabbir Suleman said regular shutdown of CNG stations badly affecting the trade activities, ambulance service and public transport.
