THE HAGUE: Hosts Netherlands and Argentina won their respective matches in the Men’s Field Hockey World Cup played at the Dutch capital The Hague on Friday, ARY News reports.
Gonzalo Peillat of Argentina scored a hat trick to secure a 3-1 victory over New Zealand.
Peillat scored the opener for the Argentine side in the 44th minute but Stephen Jenness equalized the score line five minutes later.
In the 51st minute, Peillat took the lead for his side again and doubled it in the 63rd minute to seal the victory.
Meanwhile, Netherlands defeated Germany 1-0 in their encounter yesterday. Joergen Hertzberger scored the only goal for the hosts in the 19th minute.
The match between South Korea and South Africa ended in a goal-less draw.
