Argentina thrash Germany 3-0 in Women’s Hockey World Cup

THE HAGUE: Defending champions Argentina gave a field hockey lesson to Germany as they won the match 3-0 in their Women’s Hockey World Cup match played at Netherlands’ capital The Hague on Friday, ARY News reports.

Argentine Slivina D’Elia scored the first goal in the fourth minute and Noel Barrionuevo doubled the lead in the 32nd minute. Carla Rebbechi sealed the match for the “Las Leonas” (The Lionesses) after scoring the third in the 45th minute to win the match.

Katie O’Donnell scored a hat trick to help United States thrash China 5-0 in their match yesterday.

O’Donnell scored the first for the U.S in the fourth minute and Michelle Vittese scored the second in the 10th minute. O’Donnell scored two back to back goals in the 30th and 63rd minute to make it 4-0.

Kelsey Kolojejchick put the icing on the cake as she scored the fifth three minutes before the final hooter.

Meanwhile, South Africa hammered England to a 4-1 victory.

Kathleen Taylor of South Africa netted the first in the 17th minute and Susette Damons doubled the lead for the African side in the 32nd minute. Shelley Russell made it 3-0 in the 40th minute but Nicola White made it 3-1 for the Britons in the 55th minute.

Dirkle Chamberlain took the score to 4-1 in the 52nd minute to complete the win for her side.
