Army Chief asks Khwaja Asif not to get emotional on issues
ISLAMABAD: The internal story of the meeting of National Security Committee (NSC) has been revealed, during which the Army Chief, General Raheel Sharif and Federal Minister of Defence, Khwaja Muhammad Asif were reported to have pleasant attitude towards each other – ARY News reports.
According to details, after this revelation, the perception which was made a few days earlier that there is a kind of tug of war going on between the military and civil leadership and the higher officials of the Pakistan Army are aggrieved at the controversial statements of the Defence Minister, has faded away.
ARY News Islamabad Bureau Chief, Sabir Shakir told that during the shake of hands between the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and the Defence Minister, both the personalities greeted each other, whereas 'General Raheel Sharif asked Khwaja Muhammad Asif in a pleasant manner, not to get emotional on issues', and the Minister of Defence returned with a smile.
After this all the speculations about an ongoing tussle between the civil and military leadership of the state, seem to come to an end.
