In his remarks, the Chinese premier said both the countries enjoy historic political, military and economic relations.

He said China Pakistan Economic Corridor project is not only a flagship project between the two countries but it will also bring stability and development in the whole region.

He said Beijing is cooperating with Islamabad for regional peace and prosperity.

The Army Chief said Pakistan Army was ready to provide safe environment for the CPEC.

Yesterday, the COAS met his Chinese counterpart and discussed matters pertaining to security of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project, training exchanges and intelligence sharing.

They also discussed measures to improve military to military cooperation.

Army chief last month had accused India of seeking to undermine his country’s $46 billion project to build an economic corridor to transport goods from China’s western regions through the port of Gwadar.

Gen Sharif, speaking at a development conference on the impact of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), said the significance of a Pakistan-China economic alliance had “raised eyebrows” in the region.
