Army Chief confirms death sentences of nine terrorists
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Monday confirmed death sentences of nine hardcore terrorists, involved in heinous crimes and were tried by the military courts.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said the death sentences were handed to those who were involved in heinous crimes related to terrorism including, killing of innocent civilians, slaughtering of levies officials and attacking armed forces personnel.
These terrorists also include those who fired at a PIA plane landing at Peshawar Airport in 2014, in which a woman died and two other passengers were injured.
The nine convicts included Sajid s/o Ibrahim Khan, Javed Khan s/o Faqeer Gul, Fazl e Haq s/o Shahdad, Fazal Rehman s/o Fazal Karim, Zahid Khan s/o Kitab Shah, Umar Saeed s/o Hazrat Saeed, Rahmat s/o Ismail Khan, Bakht Wali s/o Amal Khan and Nazeer Ahmed s/o Allahdad.
The military courts heard cases against these terrorists and awarded them death sentences.
