Army Chief witnesses 1st batch of overhauled choppers at Pak-Army Aviation Base
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif visited the newly established Pakistan Army Aviation Base, for the overhauling of helicopters, where he witnessed the first batch of the overhauled choppers – ARY News reports.
Addressing a ceremony on this occasion, General Raheel Sharif declared the first batch of overhauled helicopters as a remarkable achievement of Pak-Army engineers and technicians.
These choppers were overhauled locally at the Army Aviation Base Workshop in collaboration with Saint-Petersburg Aircraft Repair Company.
The Army Chief said that this will enhance the capabilities of Aviation Wing of Pakistan Army, while it will also save time as well as huge foreign exchange, which is spent at the cost of overhauling.
He added that Pakistan will soon be self-sufficient in this sector and will lead to the next stage.
The COAS said that overhauling of choppers will serve as a reason to further boost the professional preparations of the Pakistan Army.
