Army takes control of security at Parliament House

ISLAMABAD: In view of the imposition of Article-245 of the Constitution in Islamabad and long march by PTI and PAT, the army has taken control of the Parliament House, ARY News reported Wednesday.

The ceremonies for the Independence Day celebrations will begin tonight. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be chief guest on the occasion. Heads of all three armed forces, parliamentarians and international political figures will also take part in the central ceremony.

All passes for staff of Parliament House have already been cancelled in view of a security measure. Pakistan army will perform parade after the flag hoisting ceremony.

Meanwhile, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in its statement said main ceremony of the Independence Day will be held on the eve of August 14 (today).

Pakistan Air Force will also perform fly-past. A special documentary featuring history of Pakistan will also be screened during the gathering, DG ISPR Asim Saleem Bajwa added.
