ISLAMABAD: Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has said that Pakistan Army upholds the sanctity of all institutions and would resolutely defend its dignity and pride, ARY News reported on Monday.

He was addressing soldiers during his visit of the headquarters of Special Service Group (SSG) at Tarbela.

Gen Sharif lauded the sacrifices of the SSG soldiers and acknowledged their tremendous success against terrorism.

Army Chief said, Pakistan Army would never shy away from rendering any sacrifice in ensuring a formidable defence.

General Sharif, while responding to the concerns of soldiers on undue criticism of the Institution in recent days, said the Army upholds the sanctity of all institutions and will resolutely preserve its own dignity and institutional pride.

Earlier on arrival, the COAS was received by Vice Chief of General Staff Maj Gen Ghayyur Mehmood and General Officer Commanding SSG, Maj Gen Abid Rafiq.
