Army Chief urges good governance, national unity for better results in anti-terror war

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif was presiding over the Corps Commanders Conference in which National Action Plan, Operation Zarb-e-Azb and other matters were discussed. It was also decided to step up operations against terrorism.

General Raheel Sharif speaking in the moot said that the military moving ahead to eliminate terrorism with the cooperation of the nation. He said that the military has the backing of the entire nation in its war against terrorism. He said with the cooperation of the nation we are moving towards the elimination of terrorism.

General Sharif called for long term policies for maintenance of law and order in the country. He also urged for completion of the inquiries of the joint investigation teams (JITs) as early as possible. He said the ongoing operations will be affected negatively if the investigations not completed soon.

The moot discussed General Raheel Sharif’s upcoming visit of the United States. The Army Chief also briefed the corps commanders about his recent visit of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Army commanders also discussed the matter of early return of the tribesmen who were displaced in the operation against terrorists.
