Army’s support and preparation for census reviewed

RAWALPINDI: Corps Commander Mangla Lt. General Umar Farooq Durrani on Saturday held a coordination meeting for army support during sixth housing and population census in the country.

The meeting attended by representatives of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics and civil administration reviewed and expressed satisfaction over the preparations for successful conduct of the census.

Corps Commander Mangla assured the participants of full assistance by the army on the directives from Chief of Army Staff General Qammar Javed Bajwa for smooth conduct of census.

The census is scheduled to be held on March 15.

Gen. Bajwa had on Thursday witnessed training for troops to execute population census support plan. He appreciated the preparations and said that census is an important national activity and the army shall extend full support for its smooth conduct.
