PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s top news channel, ARY News, was expelled from covering an official visit of President Mamnoon Hussain to Governor House on Friday.
On President’s visit today, almost all media houses were invited to cover the event; however, officials stopped ARY News media team from entering the premises of the governor house, saying the channel’s name was not on the list that contained the names of media representatives authorised to cover President’s visit.
It is important to mention here that the media list was prepared in Islamabad.
“Not sure why ARY News was included in the list,” said an official at the gate and added, “The media list has been prepared in Islamabad.
During September this year too, ARY News team was not allowed to report the inauguration of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Gwadar by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif despite an official invite to cover the event.
