Aseefa Bhutto decides to contest by-poll instead of general elections

KARACHI: The youngest daughter of former President Asif Ali Zardari, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday has decided to not contest the imminent general elections 2018, but instead contest by-polls from the Lyari constituency.

According to sources, Aseefa would contest by-elections from any of the vacated seat by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Bilawal, who is contesting for multiple seats, from both Lyari and Larkana, will vacate one if he wins both. Aseefa will then stand in the by-poll from the vacated constituency.

Since, Aseefa wanted to make Lyari her constituency, therefore this decision is taken by PPP.

Aseefa freshly completed her Masters degree from University College London in Global Health and Development and is mainly contributing as a Rotary International Ambassador for Polio.

Meanwhile, Bilawal would contest general elections from NA-200 Larkana, NA-246 Lyari.(01)

Former PPP president Asif Ali Zardari will contest from NA- 213 (Nawabshah) while his sister Faryal Talpur will contest from provincial seats of Larkana (PS-10), Nawabshah (PS-37).

Zardari’s brother-in-law Munawar Talpur will be the party’s candidate from Mirpurkhas on NA seat.
