LAHORE: Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC), Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi has declared media an important pillar for national development and urged the media to prepare its code of ethics itself – ARY News reports.
Addressing the National Solidarity Conference (NSC), Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi urged media, politicians and national institutions to refrain from confrontation. He said that the country is facing internal as well as external challenges, and for this the armed forces of Pakistan, national institutions, religious, political parties and media, all need to be unified to fight back all the threats posed to the state.
Ashrafi said that the solution to all the issues rests in an Islamic system of state, but this system cannot be implemented as long as all the sections of the society are not united on this.
Moreover, a rally was also taken out after the conference.
