DHAKA: Indian spinner Ravendra Jadeja took four wickets for India as Afghanistan were all out at 159 runs in their Asia Cup 2014 match against India here at Sher-e-Bangla stadium at Mirpur, ARY News reports on Wednesday.
Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to field first.
Afghan batsmen did not manage to pull any mentioning performances. Samiullah Shenwari was the top scorer for the team as he made 50 runs from 73 balls. Opener Noor Ali Zadran made 31 runs whereas Mohammad Shehzad scored 22 runs.
Ravendra Jadeja stood the stand out bowler for the Indian team as he took four wickets and conceded 30 runs in his 10 overs. Ravi Ashwin took three wickets whereas Mohammad Shami took two wickets. Amit Mishra dismissed one batsman.
India are currently batting at 34-0 in nine overs as Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane are at the crease on 18 and 16 runs respectively.
It should be noted that both teams have already been knocked out of the tournament. Sri Lanka and Pakistan will be playing the final of Asia Cup 2014 on Saturday.
