Asia Cup 2014: Sri Lanka bat against Pakistan in opener

FATULLAH (BANGLADESH): Sri Lanka have won the toss against Pakistan in the opening match of Asia Cup and elected to bat first, ARY News reported on Tuesday. ​                                                                                            

The match is being played at Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah, Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka Captain said "Kulasekara and Dilshan are out, but we have a full strength side apart from them,". It's a new game, a new tournament and we have to be on our guard. Getting momentum early and pushing it along is important. They're a very good side and Misbah is in great form as well"

Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-haq, said, ""There's no better thing for a batsman than to be in form and scoring runs. I have no idea how the pitch will react," added Misbah. He said the same team is playing today that played in Abu Dhabi last.

The playing-11 for Pakistan is: Sharjeel Khan, Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Hafeez, Sohaib Maqsood, Misbah-ul-Haq*, Umar Akmal†, Shahid Afridi, Bilawal Bhatti, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Junaid Khan.                                                                                               

While Sri Lanka side is represented by: MDKJ Perera, HDRL Thirimanne, KC Sangakkara†, DPMD Jayawardene, LD Chandimal, AD Mathews*, PC de Silva, NLTC Perera, SMSM Senanayake, SL Malinga, RAS Lakmal.
