Asia Cup: India beats Bangladesh by 6 wickets

FATULLAH: India started the Asia Cup with the six wickets victory against Bangladesh on Wednesday at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah, ARY News reported.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored 19th ODI hundred in the record 213-run third-wicket partnership with Ajinkya Rahane.                           

Kohli played brilliantly all around the ground for his 136 hitting 16 fours and 2 sixes, well supported by Rahane, who made 73 runs.                                   

Bangladesh's bowling attack after getting two quick wickets of Indian opening pair remained unsuccessful to stop the two batsmen.                      

Kohli-Rahane helped guide India to a comfortable victory.                 

Earlier Bangladesh batting first set the target of 280 runs.

Mushfiqur Rahim was the top scorer for Bangladesh making 117 runs followed by opener Anamul Haque, who made 77.

India will play their second match against Bangladesh on February 28 while Bangladesh will take on Afghanistan on Saturday (March 1).
