Asia Cup: India win toss, opt to bowl against Bangladesh

TOP NEWS

FATULLAH (BANGLADESH): India have won the toss and opted to bowl against Bangaldesh in the second game of 12th Asia Cup, 2014 here.

The match is being played at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah today.

After the toss, Indian skipper Virat Kohli said  that the pitch eased out yesterday (Tuesday), so it would be easier to bat on later. Also, he says India are better chasers. Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim says the pitch should remain the same for batting, however, they are without Tamim and Shakib.

Bangladesh's attacking opener Tamim Iqbal has been ruled out of the event because of a neck strain and their all-rounder Shakib-Al-Hasan will also miss the action against India due to his two-match ban for showing lewd gestures on live TV.

Fitness doubts also hang over veteran pacer Mashrafe Mortaza (swollen knee) while captain Mushfiqur Rahim is nursing an injured finger that had kept him out of the two T20Is against Sri Lanka earlier this month.
