Asian Games 2014: Pakistan bags first medal

KARACHI: Pakistan’s athlete Maratib Ali Shah has won the first medal for Pakistan in the Asian Games 2014, ARY News reported.

Maratib Ali won the bronze medal in the 70kg wushu event for men on Tuesday.

On Monday, he defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Nurlanbek Mamataliev 2-0 in the quarter-final but faced defeat against Kun Zhang of China in the semi-final.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s hockey team is on the track to defend the title. Green Shirts, who had played two matches in the event up till now, are unbeaten and will face arch-rivals India on September 25.
