Asian Games 2014: Pakistan defeats Sri Lanka by 14-0

INCHEON: Defending champions Pakistan has made short work of Sri Lanka in their opening game with a 14-0 victory on Saturday, ARY News reported.

The Green Shirts initiated the match aggressively and didn’t allowed the opponents to made any come back.

The national team recorded a comprehensive win against Sri Lanka by 14-0 with seven field and penalty goals each at the Seonhak Hockey Stadium, South Korea. Mohammad Imran and Umair Bhatta scored four goals each for Pakistan.

Pakistan will take on China in their second match on Sunday.

In other events, Maria Toor qualified for the quarter final of squash event. In Men’s tennis event, Pakistan has beaten Qatar by 3-0 while Hong Kong overwhelmed Pakistan in women’s event.
