KAKAMIGAHARA, JAPAN: Pakistan defeated Japan 3-1 to win the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy on Sunday, ARY News reports.
A goal from Japan put the hosts in the lead in the first half of the final. Pakistan replied strongly in the second half and a goal each from Haseem Khan, Ammad Shakeel Butt and Rizwan Senior sealed the Championship for the side.
Pakistan was undefeated in the tournament. The green shirts had beaten Oman, Malaysia, China and India to reach the final. The match between Japan and Pakistan ended in a 1-1 draw.
Malaysia claimed the third position in the tournament.
