Asif denies possibility of military intervention

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Defence Khawaja Asif has denied any possibility of the military intervention during the existing political tensions, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

In an interview he said relations between the government and military are cordial.

He denied any possibility of military intervention in the country adding that the government and the military have complete agreement over policies.

Opposition party Pakistan Tehreek i Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan has announced a long march to capital Islamabad on August 14, Pakistan’s independence day, to protest against alleged irregularities in May 2013, general elections in the country.

The minister said that the government still have four years of its tenure to complete its agenda.
