Assault on PAT workers: Case registered against PM, ministers

ISLAMABAD: A case was registered against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and 10 others on charges of assault on Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers couple of months back, ARY News reported.

Police had baton-charged and fired tear gas shells on PAT protesters in Islamabad on August 31 outside Parliament House.

On charges against the assault, a case was filed against the PM and his ministers today at Secretariat Police Station. The Anti-Terrorism clauses are also included in the case.

Those nominated in the case along with the PM include Interior Minister Chaduhary Nisar Ali Khan, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique and Defence Minister Khwaja Asif.

A district and sessions judge in Islamabad had ordered registration of case against the PM and his ministers couple of days ago.
