Talking to media after successful talks with civil society representatives protesting outside Chief Minister House, Farooqi maintained that the ASWJ is an outlawed organisation according to National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).

Civil society representatives and people from different walks of life participated in a sit-in outside Chief Minister House to protest against terrorism in the wake of deadly Shikarpur blast which killed more than 60 people on January 30, 2015.

The protesters chanted slogans against sectarian and extremist outfits with their major demands being public declaration of  banned religious outfits that were promoting sectarian violence, removal of their hateful wall chalking and banners and taking away of the security provided to banned outfit leaders.

The sit-in also demanded from the Sindh government to provide immediate relief and aid to Shikarpur blast victims.

The protest ended on Wednesday night with successful talks with Sindh government representatives most notably, Sharmila Farooqi.

Farooqi assured everyone that the injured victims of Shikarpur blast will be taken care of and a campaign against hateful wall chalking will be initiated within 15 days.
