ASWJ ends sit-in after talks with Additional IG, Commissioner Karachi
KARACHI: Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat (ASWJ) has announced to end its protest sit in after successful talks with Additional IG Shahid Hayat and the Commissioner Karachi – ARY News reports.
According to details, ASWJ organized a protest rally against the sectarian based killings of its workers and leaders in the country, in which a large number of ASWJ workers participated.
The protestors staged a sit-in at Guru Mandar, where the ASWJ Chief, Allama Ahmed Ludhiyanvi and Allama Aurangzeb Farooqi addressed the protestors.
During his address, Allama Ahmed Ludhiyanvi expressed severe concerns over the information regarding the involvement of neighboring countries in sectarian killings here.
Allama Aurangzeb Farooqi said that the neighboring states are spreading sectarian terrorism in Pakistan, due to which ASWJ are being targeted all over the country.
The ASWJ workers ended the protest sit-in after successful negotiations with the Additional IG Shahid Hayat and the Commissioner Karachi, who insured the protestors to take an action against terrorists.
Earlier the ASWJ had announced to stage a protest demonstration outside the Iranian Consulate in Clifton area, in realm of which the local administration had imposed Section-144 in District South of the metropolis to contain the protestors and to refrain them from reaching the consulate.
All the routes leading to the Iranian Consulate were sealed completely, whilst the citizens were advised to use alternate ways to Clifton area.
