Dr. Asim Hussain, a former federal minister during the People’s Party tenure, was produced in ATC-II today.

The court after brief hearing sent Dr. Asim Hussain to jail. The judge in his remarks during the case proceeding said that the accused will, however, remain on remand with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Moreover, the Rangers have filed a miscellaneous petition in Sindh High Court on removal of the investigation officer of the case against Dr Asim Hussain.

The security agency pleaded to the court for removal of the investigation officer arguing that the IO was trying to weaken the case against the accused on the behest of the government.

The report also claimed that Dr. Asim Hussain was involved in providing medical treatment to the terrorists of alQaida and Lyari gang war.

The report also alleged him of land grabbing, money laundering, corruption and power abuse.
