Australia beats England by 218 runs

ADELAIDE: Australia defeated England by 218 runs in the Second Ashes Test match here at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday to lead the series 2-0, ARY News reports. 

 

England started the fifth day of the test match at 247/6 as the team was on the verge of defeat.

 

Matt Prior provided some resistance to the Australian team and made 69 runs. Stuart Broad scored 29 runs.

 

The visitors could only add 65 runs on the final day of the test match and they were all out on 312 runs.

 

Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson was named the Man of the Match for his 8 wickets.

 

It is the first time since the 2006 series that the hosts are leading the series 2-0.
