Newly-elected Governor Sindh Imran Ismail makes no secret of his hero, Imran Khan, whom he admires for over four decades, and the admiration followed by affiliation is now bearing fruit for the PTI leader.

Mr. Ismail shared a picture of an autograph on Twitter which he received ‘from his hero’ Khan  some 40 years ago. He captioned the picture: “40 years ago, I took autograph from my hero Imran Khan. I became Governor with the same signatures 40 years later. Cannot be more thankful to God, May Allah give me strength to build Naya Pakistan.”

Imran Ismail is one of the founding members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

On August 28, he was sworn in as governor Sindh. The new governor has replaced Muhammad Zubair of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, who had resigned after the general elections.

Prior to his oath-taking ceremony, Mr Ismail, who was elected as a member of the Sindh Assembly from a Karachi constituency (PS-111) in the July 25 general elections, sent his resignation as a provincial lawmaker to the speaker.

In his first media interaction after becoming the governor, he said that he would not restrict himself to a particular city as the whole province was his domain.
