Aziz expresses condolences with Germany over Berlin attack

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has written a letter addressed to the German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier to express his condolences over the attack at a  Christmas market in Berlin.

The Adviser expressed his profound sadness at the terrorist incident, and conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and friends of the victims who have to undergo pain and suffering at a festive time.

Mr. Aziz also condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and expressed solidarity with Germany and the international community in the fight to eradicate this menace.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had on Monday also condemned the terror in Berlin and extended his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Germany on the loss of precious lives in the attack.

‘Pakistani people share the grief of German people and stand by them, in this most painful time. Terrorism is our common enemy and the world needs to put up a joint fight against this menace. Pakistan itself has suffered great losses of lives and property by terrorism and would continue to ensure all measures for its eradication,’ said the Prime Minister.
