BALOCHISTAN: The government of Balochistan will present the budget for fiscal year 2018-19 in the provincial assembly on Friday (today).
Adviser to Balochistan Chief Minister on Finance Ruqayya Saeed will present the provincial budget with a total outlay of more than Rs 350 billion, whereas the budget deficit is likely to stand at Rs 60 billion.
In the proposed provincial budget Rs 56.54 billion have been allocated for the education sector, Rs 19.41 billion for health department and Rs 38.09 billion for the law enforcement in the province.
The budget also proposes 10% increase in the salaries of government employees. The budget papers also suggest that increase in pensions will be carried out in accordance with the announcement made by the federal government.
The government promises in the proposed budget to create 3,000 new vacancies in various public departments during the fiscal year 2018-19.
The provincial budget estimates Rs 290.29 billion as the net income and the province will receive Rs 243.17 billion from the federal divisible pool under the National Finance Commission (NFC) award.
According to the budget papers, the provincial government has earmarked Rs 263.90 billion and Rs 90 billion for non-development and development expenditures respectively for the upcoming financial year.
