CHITTAGONG: Bangladesh has defeated Nepal by 8 wickets in the qualifying round match of World T20 on Tuesday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, ARY News reported.
Bangladesh won the toss and put Nepal in to bat. Nepal had gamely scrapped through their innings, losing only five wickets but always struggling to score much above six an over.
Captain of Nepal Paras Khadka scored 41 while Sharad Vesawkar made 40 off 43.
Both the batsmen helped their team to reach 126 runs with the partnership of 85 runs.
Al-Amin Hossain was the pick of Bangladesh’s bowler claiming 2 for 17.
Anamul Haque scored 42 runs hitting five 4s and 2 sixes while Tamim Iqbal's contributed well with 30 to set the initial rhythm for the hosts.
Following the departure of opening pair, Shabbir Rahman and Shakib ul Hasan brought their team home scoring 21 and 37 respectively.
