Banks start receiving Hajj applications

The process of receiving the applications under the government scheme will continue till May 8, Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced.

Balloting of the applications will be held on 14th of the next month.

A total of 143,368 Pakistanis would perform the annual Hajj pilgrimage this year half of whom will proceed to Hajj under the government scheme and remaining through Private Scheme.

The official sources said that the Hajj applicants must have a machine readable passport having validity upto March 21, 2016.

Branches of ten designated banks would start receiving Hajj applications from today (Monday) till the 8th of May, 2015.

Under the Hajj Policy 2015, 143,368 pilgrims will perform the pilgrimage this year.
Fifty percent ‘selected’ will perform Hajj under the government scheme.

The charges for residents of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are Rs264,971 and Rs255,971 for Sindh and Balochistan.

Under the government Hajj Policy those who performed Hajj during the last five years will not be considered this year.
