BARCELONA: World No. 1 and defending champion Rafael Nadal cruised into the quarter finals of Barcelona Open after defeating Ivan Dogic of Croatia in straight sets, ARY News reports.
Nadal trounced Dogic 6-3 and 6-3 to make it to the final eight.
In another match, Nicolas Almagro beat Fernando Verdasco in straight sets whereas Marin Cilic defeated Tommy Robredo in a gruelling three set encounter to qualify for the quarter finals.
Cilic won the match 7-5 6-7 and 7-6.
