Bayern Munich beats Arsenal in UEFA Champions League

LONDON: Bayern Munich beats Arsenal by 2-0 in their UEFA Champions League last-16 first leg clash at Emirates Stadium on Thursday, ARY News Reported.

Fans saw tough completion in the first half of the game, both teams missed penalties in the first half, with Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil shooting straight at Manuel Neuer, and Bayern midfielder David Alaba clipping a post. Wojciech Szczesny was sent off in the 37th minute for following through on Arjen Robben.

The match was breathless until the sending off, with both sides attacking and trying to gain an advantage. Toni  Kroos nearly opened the scoring for Bayern in the third minute when he forced Szczesny to make a flying save with his fingertips.

Arsenal’s defence was weaker in the second-half of the game. This allowed Bayern Munich’s strikers Toni Kroos and Thomas Mueller to put the ball in the net helping their team for a 2-0 victory over 10-man Arsenal and a firm grip of their last 16 Champions League.

Arsenal tired heading into the final 20 minutes as Robben exploited the space in front of a jaded backline.
