KARACHI: The bomb disposal squad defused a bomb in SITE area of Karachi before visit of Sindh's Minister of Local Government Sharjeel Memon, ARY News reported on Thursday.
Karachi Water Board had decided to launch a drive against illegal hydrants in SITE Town and invited Local Government Minister Sharjeel Memon on the occasion.
The information regarding presence of a bomb was received.
The SITE area bomb was found in a water can near Habib Bank Chowrangi. Ten to 15 kilogrammes of explosives were used in the bomb. The chemical and ball bearing were used in the device, which was attached with a detonator and battery.
The site was evacuated and the disposal squad conducted a search of the premises.
