Nation remembers Benazir Bhutto on her eight death anniversary

LARKANA: The eight death anniversary of former Pakistan premier Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto is being observed today, with party leaders and workers thronging Garhi Khuda Baksh to pay homage to late chairperson of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), ARY News reported.

Eight years passed since the first ever female prime minister of Pakistan was assassinated after addressing an electoral rally at Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh on December 27, 2007.

A large number of party leaders and workers from all over the country have reached Garhi Khuda Baksh – ancestral village of Bhutto family – to attend the ceremony with regard to death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto. Fool-proof security arrangements are in place on the occasion.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also reached Larkana along with his sister Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari. His aunt Faryal Talpur and Home Minister Sohail Anwar Sial were accompanied the party chairman.

Bilawal visited reception camps in the city without any protocol and mingled with people there.
