A big match, India v Sri Lanka, the finalist familiars
MIRPUR: The final of World T20 will be played between India and Sri Lanka at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur on Sunday.
The pitch of Mirpur is like to help spinners, it will be slow too, but if there is a storm around, batting first might not be an automatic choice. Furthermore, there is a reserve day (April 7), if the weather not allow a result.
India have won three major finals under MS Dhoni, at the 2007 World T20, the 2011 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy. Now Dhoni is on the prospect of holding all three limited-overs titles in the space of three years. If India win, they will equaled the longest winning streak in T20Is.
However, Indian captain thinks a bit different, he said "We can think of that only after we have won. For now, it is all about doing what will make us successful. We need to play good cricket, and not focus on statistics."
Meanwhile, Sri Lankan skipper, Lasith Malinga hoping for a perfect farewell of two legendary cricketers Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara, the pair have lost four world finals up till now.
“It's a special day tomorrow and we have to do something special for Mahela and Sanga. They are great cricketers and deserve a good farewell", said Malinga.
