The government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been in fix over the former president Gen. (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s request for removal of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL) and allowing him to visit his ailing mother admitted in a hospital in Sharjah.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that his government will fulfil all the legal and constitutional requirements on the Musharraf issue. He said this while chairing a meeting of PML-N stalwarts on Tuesday.

He said the government will uphold the supremacy of the constitution in all circumstances.

The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid and other party leaders.

According to sources, the prime minister has decided to hold thorough consultations over the issue.
