Blasphemy act: Abid seeks legal action against Geo
FAISALABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was standing by national institutions against blasphemy committed by Geo Tv, ARY News reported Sunday.
No private TV channel could be allowed to spread religious hatred, he said while talking to journalists at Faisalabad Electronic Supply Company (Fesco) office today.
He said, “We will not support any campaign targeting national and defence institutions.”
Ali said a legal action should be taken against Geo.
The minister said the statement of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah wherein he opposed closure of Geo Tv was his personal.
Regarding electricity crisis, Ali said whoever paid the bill would get electrcitiy.
He was of the view that government would bring to an end loadshedding before completion of its tenure.
“No load-shedding will be carried out during Sehri, Iftaar and Taravih in Ramazan,” said the minister.
