At least four cops wounded in Karachi blast
SSP East Zone Police Pir Mohammad Shah, talking to the media, said that the explosion took place when unknown persons hurled a hand grenade at the police checkpost.
The blast was heard in the far flung areas of the metropolis. Windows of nearby buildings were broken due to the impact of the explosion.
Police and Rangers surrounded the area after the explosion. Rescue teams arrived at the scene and shifted the wounded to Jinnah Hospital.
The police checkpost was heavily damaged by the hand grenade attack and the motorcycles of staff parked there were destroyed in the incident.
Police has said that no losses of lives took place as most of the cops were inside the checkpost when the blast took place.
