Two policemen injured while one bomb planted outside school boundary defused

PESHAWAR: In a span of just an hour, a bomb apparently targeting a police van went off, injuring at least two policemen in Khattak Pull area while another bomb planted outside school with its boundary wall in Urmarh area defused by bomb disposal squad  here on Monday morning, ARY News reported. 

According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police, a roadside bomb targeting a police van, exploded at Peshawar’s Khattak Pull area injuring two security personnel.

Search operation has been underway in the area in the aftermath of the blast over possible presence of any suspect in the nearby residential area, police sources said.

In another incident, a three-kilogramme bomb device was defused by the bomb disposal squad (BDS) outside a school building.

The police spokesperson said a suspicious material was reported outside a school building. The bomb disposal squad called on the site immediately and a bomb device was found and safely defused.

Police has been on the high alert in the area and a search operation has been underway, police officials confirmed.
