New Delhi: Officials say boat overcrowded with picnic guests capsized on a river in India's eastern Orissa state, and at least 11 people drowned.
State government official Pradeep Kumar Mahapatra says rescuers are searching for another six to seven people feared trapped within the hull of the boat, which sank Sunday in Orissa's Sambalpur District, about 1,300 kilometers southeast of New Delhi.
The bodies of 11 people have been recovered. Authorities are investigating the accident.
