Bomb found near Musharraf's residence
ISLAMABAD: Police recovered a bomb near the house of former President and Army Chief General (Retd.) Pervez Musharraf as he was about to leave for the Special court for the hearing of treason case here on Wednesday, ARY News reports.
Musharraf was supposed to be indicted in the treason case in the Special court today.
Police recovered the bomb lying near the house of Musharraf at Chak Shehzad just as the former Army Chief was set to leave for the proceedings. Bomb Disposal Squad was called on the spot.
Five explosive devices were found near Musharraf's house yesterday whereas a 5 kilogram bomb was recovered on the route of the Special court as the former President was heading for his hearing in the treason trial last week.
Musharraf did not appear in the hearings today.
The former President and Army Chief also filed a petition in the court to exempt him from appearing the court hearings over the case. Lawyers informed the court about life threats to the former Army Chief.
They requested the court to adjourn the hearings of his case for the next two weeks.
