Book written in French on the life of 'Nusrat Fateh' translated to Urdu

FAISALABAD: The groundbreaking ceremony of Urdu translation for the book of French author, Dr. Pierre Alain Baud’s ‘Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the messenger of Qawwali’ held in Faisalabad on Wednesday, ARY News reported.

The unveiling ceremony of Urdu translated book was held in Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan auditorium of Arts Council Faisalabad. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Pierre Alain Baud.

Dr. Pierre Alain Baud  wrote a book on the life and works of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, who has been entitled with dozens of titles including ‘Emperor of Music’, ‘The King of Kings of Qawwal’, ‘Owner of heavenly vocal’, ‘Essence of human music’, ’The Singing Buddha’. 

The book written by Pierre Alain Baud, who is a Researcher, Artistic Counselor, journalist has published the first ever biography on Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in the French speaking world. 

Shaukat Niazi has done the Urdu translation of the book. Speaking on the occasion Shaukat Niazi said that he has translated the book with the spirit that a book written in a foreign language must be translated to Urdu at first.

A documentary depicting the life and works of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was also displayed.
