MIRPUR: West Indies has set the target of 167 runs in the important game against Pakistan on Tuesday at Mirpur, ARY News reported.
West Indies captain Darren Sammy after winning the toss chose to bat.
Pakistan get rid of Chris Gayle (5) in the third followed by Dwayne Smith's wicket (8) in the very next over but Lendl Simmons controlled WI with his watchful inning scoring 31 off 29 balls.
Then, some late hitting from Dwayne Bravo, who scored 46 in 26 balls hitting 2 fours and 4 sixes and Darren Sammy’s quick 42 with the strike rate of 210.00 allows West Indies to score 166 in allotted 20 overs.
The pitch was expected to get slower as the match progressed, and dew has played less of a role in Mirpur than it has done in Chittagong.
This is a must win match for both teams to qualify for a semi-final spot. And the winner of this game will play Sri Lanka on April 3 for a place in the World T20 final.
So far, West Indies have beaten Bangladesh batting first and chased down a large target against Australia.
Meanwhile, Pakistan are yet to bat second in the tournament, and have traditionally been more comfortable defending totals.
